Join us as The Foundation at Monroe County Community College celebrates its 10th anniversary with a special performance by Monroe native and Emmy-winning comic-musician Dale Gonyea, who has been hailed by the Los Angeles Times as “heir to the piano-comedy throne.” In addition to his live performances, Gonyea also writes national jingles; songs for children’s movies and programming - including several for Disney; and other songs that have performed by the likes of Bette Midler, Ray Stevens and Rich Little. The San Francisco Chronicle touted Gonyea as “a classically trained pianist turned comic” who is “moving, funny, robot-sharp and lyrical.”

Dyn-o-mite! Get ready for Jimmie “J.J.” Walker, who strode out of the New York ghetto in the 1960s to become one of the best-known television personalities in the U.S. After getting the first major breaks of his career with appearances on the Jack Parr Show and a Laugh In special, Walker landed the role that launched him to super stardom - J.J. Walker on the top-rated CBS sit-com Good Times, which aired from 1974-1979. “Dyn-o-mite!” doubled as the catch phrase Walker made famous on the show and the name of his best-selling comedy album. Time Magazine named him Comedian of the Decade for the 1970s. Walker now tours the U.S. doing stand-up comedy, performs on late-night TV and game shows, and writes scripts for TV and movies.
