Monroe Community Players and Monroe County Community College have put the Meyer Theater and state-wide performers on the map in February 2009 with the Michigan competition of the acclaimed AACT Festival of American Community Theatre coming to Monroe.
AACT Fest presents a forum for community theatres from the ten regions of AACT to enter productions for adjudication and advancement from the state level, to the regional level and finally, to the national level.
AACT members will be coming here to perform in the competition. Each entry is timed for 10 minutes to set up, 1 hour to perform and 10 minutes to strike.
We have 3 adjudicators who have previously judged national competitions: Bonnie Froelich (Ohio),
Larry Nielson (Michigan), Joan Kole (Illinois).
